National Cyber Security Awareness Month: Vital For Internet Safety
By: Rachel Raupp
Being that October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), we thought it would be a great idea to share tips for staying safe online. As a company that utilizes many cloud-based systems, we take the utmost caution in which sites and tools we use when servicing our customers. We want to keep our information and our clients’ information safe, secure, and private.
The internet touches almost every part of our lives. Not just our work lives, but also our home lives and the lives of our children. Practicing safe habits online is a great idea for every person of every age, no matter what information they are putting on the web.
Make sure that all ads are blocked. If not, this can open your computer up to harmful codes, viruses or hackers. It’s important to utilize a firewall, which will inspect all incoming messages for viruses and keep you safe from hacks. Many online threats gain access to your computer via emails and files that are shared.
Antivirus software is a must when dealing with sensitive information. As well as utilizing it, you also want to update it on a regular basis. It’s important to have the latest, safest software to defend against any viruses or malicious codes.
If you are ever not sure how to increase your security, it’s never a bad idea to seek expert advice or services. This will be a purchase that you will not regret.
We only use the safest sites. Read our past blog about safe and reliable online tools we use for our business.
