It’s been about one year since the COVID-19 pandemic took the world by storm and turned everything upside down. Life changed as we knew it, and we all were frantic to adapt as quickly and efficiently as possible. Many businesses closed for good while others switched to remote work. We’ve discovered some ways that help keep us and our team motivated during these work-from-home days. We wish you luck finding the right method that makes your remote-work days as productive as possible!
Hold each other accountable.
Keep communication open with your team, hold regular meetings, and be supportive of one another. It can be hard to motivate yourself when working remote, so try pushing and motivating your team to crank out their tasks for the day. Hold each other accountable so progress continues to be made and no one plateaus.
Follow a morning routine.
Find the routine that works for you. By now, it seems we’ve tried just about everything under the sun. If you haven’t found your perfect morning routine just yet, keep working at it. Make an effort to get ready and make yourself presentable every single day.
Fuel your mind and body.
Don’t skip meals. Drink lots of water. Don’t become a couch potato staring at your computer screen. Make sure to have healthy snacks and full meals throughout the day so your mind and body feel energized and alert.
Switch up your home office.
The same scenery can get boring. Switch up your home office location from one room to another or try finding a spot to work outside. Changing up your surroundings will force you out of your rut and give your mental health a little oomph.
Know your work ethic.
Are you a morning person or do you have more energy in the afternoon? Know your body, know your work ethic, and determine when you’ll be most productive and efficient throughout the day.
Take breaks.
It can be easy to forget about the 9 - 5 schedule when you’re working remote. You’ll find yourself answering work calls and emails at all hours of the day. Cut it out! Avoid overworking yourself by taking breaks and being active. Take a quick walk, do a short workout, or just sit and clear your mind for a bit.
