Cheryl Skynar

Cheryl Skynar has worked in accounting for over 40 years and leads our team of bookkeepers. Our clients—and their CPAs—appreciate her attention to detail and the use of proper accounting practices to organize their books. This accurate recording of transactions can reduce tax liabilities, improving our clients’ bottom line.

Cheryl thrives on being a problem solver and enjoys helping others make their bookkeeping work FOR them. She understands that her clients are busy business owners who want an easy to understand flow of business. Cheryl is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program Member.

Tom Skynar

Tom Skynar brings his business acumen to the team with over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry where he served as Engineering Manager, building the Engineering Department from the ground up. The large team of talented engineers he developed became a go-to source as a Tier 1 supplier to Ford, GM, and Chrysler.

Tom’s passion is process improvement and business development, and he has consulted many start-up businesses. His sound and realistic approach in launching ventures have proven to be invaluable for his clients.

Mary Raupp

Mary Raupp joined our team with over 30 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience.

Mary attended the University of Michigan Dearborn Campus and is a lifetime resident of Michigan. For the 10 years before joining Skynar Bookkeeping, she worked with a manufacturing company as an Account Manager focusing on maintaining their accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Establishing proper accounting policies and protocols, Mary provides accurate and complete financial reporting.

Erika Bain

Erika Bain brings enthusiasm to our firm and a can-do attitude to take on a variety of projects. Erika came to us with 10 years of business administration and bookkeeping experience.

She is skilled in accounting for the manufacturing, real estate, and property management industries, as well as service-based businesses. Erika has strong attention to detail while providing accurate financial reporting. Erika has an Associates Degree in Accounting from Henry Ford Community College.

Lerona Gause

Lerona Gause joined Skynar Bookkeeping Services as an Accountant/Bookkeeper in August 2019. Prior to joining the firm, Lerona worked for over 15 years at other public accounting firms.

Lerona focused on client bookkeeping for small and medium-sized businesses, producing monthly financial statements, reconciling bank and credit card statements, posting monthly journal entries, A/P and A/R, monthly sales tax returns, and prepared 1099’s. Lerona received her Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Washtenaw Community College.

Lerona is married and resides in Westland.

Nancy Engels

Nancy has over 30 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting and data management. She is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program Member and has a BA from the University of Michigan and MBA from Wayne State University in Finance and Information Systems.

Nancy is a problem solver and is known for her tenacity and ability to find creative solutions. She takes great pride in taking the initiative to go beyond expectations and to watch out for her client’s interests. In her downtime she enjoys traveling with her husband and being active in her community.

Heather Campbell

Heather is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University. She has over 15 years’ experience in bookkeeping . Previous experience includes AR, AP, HR management, payroll, payroll taxes, financial controls, financial clean up, IRS audits, financial planning, job costing, and customer service. She is a problem solver and prides herself on clean accounting.

Heather Cook

Heather joined Skynar in April 2024. Heather has over 30 years of accounting, bookkeeping and payroll experience. She spent the past 8 years in a Corporate Accounting role. Prior to that she worked for 12 years in a CPA firm, providing bookkeeping services and payroll for many clients. Heather received her Bachelors in Accounting from Central Michigan University. She currently resides in Coldwater, Michigan with her husband.
